​​​​Certificate in Workplace Coaching Skills (CWCS)

​​Coaching can take the form of a developmental intervention, leadership style, communicative approach or workplace culture. This engaging and highly practical course will provide attendees with all of the knowledge, skills and mindsets they need in order to become effective workplace coaches capable of growing new leaders and supporting others.

Our CWCS programme combines extensive coaching practices with trainer input and practice tasks. â€‹â€‹â€‹

Test Included:

This programme will also accredit attendees in the use of the Coachability Quotient ® Test allowing workplace coaches to test the suitability of a candidate for coaching and the extent to which coaching will be a suitable developmental intervention for an individual.

Objectives:

The objectives of the course are:

1. To understand the meaning, purposes and scope of coaching as well as the benefits it provides to individuals and organisations.

2. To be able to apply a range of coaching models including TGROW, OSKAR, REGROW, CEDAR and more without feeling confined or limited by them.

3. To know what competences are needed to make someone an effective coach as well as what makes a coachee “coachable”.

4. To be able to coach people in the workplace as individuals or groups for increased performance and to measure and monitor results, impact and outcomes.

5. To understand the ethics of coaching and the importance of contracting.

6. To have developed the communicative competences required of a coach and be able to take effective notes and maintain coaching logs.

7. To know and appreciate how coaching links to feedback, higher performance and correcting poor performance.

8. To be clear on how coaching and mentoring compare and contrast, and the alternatives to coaching as a form of development.

9. To advance and grow as a leader able to build a coaching culture and use coaching as one of the leadership styles.

10. To have engaged in numerous co-coaching practices and reflected and received feedback on performance as well as to have considered what, why and how the training can be applied at work.

Course Duration:

5 days in-person plus pre-course and post-course work.

The course will be aimed at anyone who needs to be an effective workplace coach and who needs to develop their competences in coaching.

Assessments:

Assessments on the programme include:

  • A pre-course and post-course self-assessment

  • An assessed case study analysis focusing on the core themes of the course

  • An assessed presentation focusing on planned application of the training in the workplace

  • A knowledge-based and situational judgment examination

  • Assessment of coaching practices on an ongoing basis plus completion of a coaching log post-course detailing six hours of real-life coaching,
